HOMAG eSOLUTION presents the new features of their CAD/CAM Software woodCAD|CAM at the Holz-Handwerk fair in Nuremberg. The new functions improve the working method of cabinet makers in an even better way. The main emphasis only on the parametric design of corpus furniture is history – now, the software offers efficient methods for free designing in 3D. Because of the included 5-axis technology, the most complicated components can be produced.
Tools for the parametric design will be completed with the possibility of free design in 3D. The operation follows the procedure of assembling furniture and so takes a bearing on the way of cabinet makers thinking: Separate parts can be assembled on the screen like they were finished at the final assembly – of course in 3D modus. The designer can concentrate on components and forms. The addition of moldings, materials and supplier parts follows later on. Finally the user gets measured drawings of components and cuts, part lists and CNC-programs.
5-axis-working for more individuality
“The opportunity of free designing is only a real added value, if all parts, even those with a very complex geometry, can be produced on our machines”, says Winfried Dell, manager of the HOMAG eSOLUTION. “Because of this, the connection to the HOMAG 5-axis technology is a must have. Our software engineers placed a premium on simple and comfortable usability”, Dell continues. By a 3D simulation the movements of the milling cutter and of the 5-axis-unit can be checked every time and will point out the danger of collisions optically.
